Edward and Nancy Kienholz Foundation
Hope, ID
The Edward and Nancy Kienholz Foundation is dedicated to preserving and advancing the legacy of Edward Kienholz (1927–1994) and Nancy Reddin Kienholz (1943–2019), two of the most significant and provocative figures in twentieth-century American art. Located in Hope, Idaho, the Foundation operates in the remote rural landscape where the artists lived and worked, stewarding an exceptional archive of artwork, materials, and documentation while offering residencies, exhibitions, and public programs that honor the Kienholzes' transformative artistic vision.
An FCI Scoping Grant will support a feasibility study and decarbonization roadmap for the Foundation's rural Idaho campus, including utility analysis, on-site audits, and recommendations covering passive design, equipment upgrades, fuel switching, and solar feasibility. The study will equip the Foundation with a comprehensive strategy for transitioning its remote facilities toward sustainable, resilient operations.
