Albuquerque Museum

Albuquerque, NM

The Albuquerque Museum is a leading cultural institution in New Mexico, dedicated to the art and history of the American Southwest and presenting a diverse collection spanning more than 2,000 years of history. Founded in 1967, the museum serves hundreds of thousands of visitors annually in Albuquerque's Old Town neighborhood. Its home is a Regional Modernist building designed by architect Antoine Predock and opened in 1979, with a major expansion completed in 2005—together drawing on the forms and materials of the surrounding Pueblo and Spanish Colonial architecture. The museum is embarking on further expansion with a new Education Center designed to deepen the museum's community engagement and educational programming. Sustainability is a core value of the new facility.

A 2026 FCI Implementation Grant will support the purchase and installation of solar panels for the museum's new Education Center. The solar array is expected to offset more than 730,000 pounds of CO₂ over twenty-five years, providing a visible demonstration of environmental commitment at the heart of the museum's expanded campus.
