The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center

New York Mills, MN

The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is a nonprofit arts organization in New York Mills, Minnesota, a rural community of 1,200 residents in the Otter Tail Lakes region. Since 1990, the Cultural Center has operated out of a renovated 1885 commercial building in the heart of town, offering gallery exhibitions, artist residencies, public programs, and community events that bring the arts to a region with few other cultural resources. The organization is recognized nationally as a model for rural arts development and is committed to preserving its historic facility for future generations.

A 2026 FCI Implementation Grant will support replacement of inefficient front windows and doors with custom-designed Energy Star units at the historic 1885 gallery building. Phase 1 of a larger capital campaign preparing the building for future climate and energy needs, the project will protect artwork and improve visitor comfort while preserving a beloved rural cultural institution for the next century.
