SculptureCenter
Long Island City, NY
Founded by artists in 1928, SculptureCenter (SC) leads the conversation on contemporary art by supporting artistic innovation and independent thought highlighting sculpture's specific potential to change the way we SC engages with the world. Positioning artists' work in larger cultural, historical, and aesthetic contexts, SculptureCenter discerns and interprets emerging ideas.
SculptureCenter’s (SC) HVAC Upgrade and Building Electrification Initiative is central to setting the organization’s sustainability goals for decades to come. The project intends to create a holistic strategy tailored for our SC’s unique 117-year old brick and steel industrial space that decreases our energy use and fossil fuel dependence, explores more effective insulation and a transition from natural gas to electric heating, and reduces greenhouse gas emission in alignment with the New York State net-zero initiative.
