Art Students League of New York
New York, NY
The Art Students League of New York is a unique, non-degree granting art school in New York City celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2025. Its legacy of notable students and instructors is long and full of historically significant individuals. In 2025, The League will begin a $30 million restoration of its historic 1892 Renaissance Revival building, a designated NYC landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The League must balance sustainability initiatives with historic preservation requirements while ensuring compliance with Local Law 97.
The League seeks to advance energy efficiency efforts through a Green Energy Study which will refine project specifications for its $30 million building restoration project. Building on prior assessments, it will develop technical recommendations to support the procurement and financing of energy efficiency improvements, ensuring compliance with Local Law 97 and reducing the League’s carbon footprint. The study will provide a clear roadmap for execution, enabling the League to implement upgrades that enhance sustainability and preserve its historic building.
