School of Visual Arts
New York, NY
The School of Visual Arts (SVA) is one of the country's leading colleges dedicated to the education of artists, designers, and creative professionals. Founded in 1947, SVA educates more than 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students annually across a comprehensive range of visual arts and design disciplines, with a faculty drawn from the ranks of practicing professional artists. SVA's West 21st Street buildings house academic studios and gallery spaces central to the school's educational mission and its presence in the Chelsea arts district.
A 2026 FCI Implementation Grant will support conversion of a fuel-oil boiler to biodiesel, lighting upgrades, and installation of building management system controls across two academic and gallery buildings. The project is expected to reduce energy consumption by approximately 20 percent with a two-to-three-year payback period, advancing SVA's commitment to sustainable operations.
