The Morgan Arts Council

The Morgan Arts Council (MAC) is a nonprofit arts organization in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, dedicated to bringing arts programming, exhibitions, and cultural events to its rural Appalachian community. MAC is headquartered in the Ice House, a four-story, 40,000-square-foot, brick cold storage building constructed around 1910 and gifted to MAC in 1996. It houses galleries, classrooms, artist studios, and offices.

A 2026 FCI Implementation Grant will support Phase 2 installation of a rooftop solar generation system, completing the Morgan Arts Council's transition to net-zero energy use at the Ice House. The project is expected to reduce annual energy consumption by approximately 87 percent, equivalent to 58,800 kWh, providing meaningful long-term cost savings that can be redirected to arts programming for the community.
