Lookout Arts Quarry (LAQ) is an arts community in Bellingham, Washington, offering year-round artist residencies, public programming, and studio space in a rural setting that integrates artistic practice with the natural landscape. Situated in the Pacific Northwest, the organization provides time, space, and support for artists from diverse disciplines while serving as a gathering place for creative exchange and community engagement. LAQ's facilities include residential and studio spaces that support sustained creative work across seasons and disciplines.
A 2026 FCI Implementation Grant will support the transition of the bathhouse system from propane to high-efficiency electric heat pumps. The project is expected to eliminate 786 gallons of annual propane use and reduce on-site emissions, demonstrating LAQ's commitment to environmental stewardship as an integral part of its values as a rural arts community.
