Fresno Ideaworks

Fresno Ideaworks is a nonprofit community makerspace and arts organization serving California's Central Valley, providing accessible studio space, fabrication equipment, and hands-on technical training to artists, makers, and community members. Through workshops, exhibitions, open studio programming, and youth education initiatives, Ideaworks fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration in one of the country's most underserved regions. A 2026 FCI Catalyst Grant will support the installation of LED fixtures, smart lighting controls, and energy monitoring systems across Ideaworks's workshops, studios, and gallery spaces. The project is expected to reduce lighting-related energy use by at least 25 percent, establishing a measurable baseline for the organization's broader sustainability planning while reducing operating costs.
